Also known as Kiwano or African Horned Cucumber. The green-yellow skin turns a bright deep orange when ready to harvest, and the pulp inside the fruit filled with lots of tiny seeds and greenish-gold gel. Its fruits have a flavor reminiscent of pomegranate and citrus and are high in vitamin C. This tropical fruit taste, good juiced and sweetened and delicious with yogurt. Plants generally produce up to 10-20 fruits per plant and each fruit weighs around 8-12 ounces. Native to Africa, it is hardy and easy to grow. It can be grown anywhere like a melon.
