This sweet and mild Indian variety cultivated from the city of Poona (Pune), the cultural capital of the state of Maharashtra, India. It is popular in fresh salads or juice. Pune street vendors sell these as a snack to beat the intense heat. This unusual variety changes color dramatically with maturity and can be eaten at every stage. When young, bright yellow skin is produced which eventually turns brown color with age. Disease resistant, heavy producers of 4-5″ fruit that requires trellising.
