This Japan variety of hyacinth bean has purple flowers also known as MURASAKIIROHANA FUJIMAME. The flat, thick, curved pods are green and most tender when picked young and cooked. This variety is widely grown in the subtropical regions of South Asia and China. Also popular as an ornamental plant. Young pods can be sliced or used whole.
