Echinacea purpurea or Purple Coneflower is one of the most popular perennials in the garden. It's flower are very beautiful.

Sowing: 1) Direct sow in late fall, planting the Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) seeds 1/4" deep and lightly compacting the soil.
2) For spring planting, mix the seed with moist sand and store it in the refrigerator for 90 days before direct sowing; keep the soil consistently moist until germination.
Thin or transplant the seedlings. Purple Coneflower does not do well in drought conditions and needs adequate moisture.

Medicinal Uses: Echinacea is a well-known medicinal herb with numerous uses. Its flowers can also be used to make a popular herbal tea. Echinacea also help to strengthen the immune system.
